We've got some eager participants, and certainly hoping for more. Feel free to join us. Here's the original Challenge article, if you haven't read it yet. To clarify: 1. This isn't a contest, just a challenge.

Soooo......what would YOU do?
I clean strangers' toilets for money. I have two college degrees, and I sold a book to an overseas division of Random House. The money hasn't come rolling in (though I pray to Oprah on a regular basis), so I clean houses as a way to pay the bills between royalty checks.
The following is a copy/paste of an email I sent to some (hope no one minds or is offended) as an explanation for my absence from the Vine.

This week was a bit of an experiment, and though it ended up being a fairly chaotic recording, it was still quite entertaining (I think at least).

This is a WIP (work in progress) that has taken what seems like (to me) forever to do. However, I now have all the blocks hand embroidered and ready to assemble into a quilt top. The "Circle of Buds" blocks were pre-stamped when I purchased them. There are a total of 20 blocks.

You can find the feed for the podcast over here, or if you prefer, you can listen to the audio directly in an embedded player at thevinecast.com. There is even an subscribe by email option for those that don't use a podcatcher or rss feed reader but want to be kept up to date.

Friday, March 20 was a beautiful sunshiny day that cleared the winter chill from the air. Anticipating the chance to get out of the house for a short time, Bob and I decided to go to the "airport" where we enjoy walking.

How is this possible? People who get convicted of posession of pot get more severe sentences than probation. This guy sexually assaulted a 4 year old CHILD! I hope everyone who reads this writes the Douglas County Court and demands this judge be removed from the bench.
(Authors Note: This is a copy/paste from an email I received. I do not know the original author.)

A while ago I published a couple of articles with some of my hints on how to navigate Newsvine and it seems like they went over fairly well. So I decided to continue with some additional hints and explanations on how things work around here.

This just goes to show how UNJUST the legal system can be. This guy has been paying child support for a child that DNA proves at 100% is not his, in fact the guy is sterile. And even the Nebraska Supreme Court will not overturn the case.
This is a good sounding recipe for what some might call an "Onion Petal" because of the "flower" type shape of the finished product.

The copyright issue came to the front with Victor Hugo. In 1886 his International Association of Literary Artists addressed the issue. The Berne Convention was adopted by many countries (but not the United States).

As the world faces an increasingly dire economic crisis, and as much of the west remains embedded in two wars, the spotlight is shining brighter on a select few women wielding power in 2009.
I have been looking around the Vine for the last few days, and a topic that suddenly seems to be on the minds of a lot of people is illegal aliens and the problems that are caused by the porous borders that we have, and the lack of enforcement of our immigration laws.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
— psykhe
A ravishing dainty of exquistie wisdom and charm, a pride of the badlands, a sought partner for a "hog" ride up to Sturgis for annual revelations via night ride through her guidance via astrologic observance and yet, one having sense enough to stay on the periphery of politic tongue dribbling, which to no end delves into the alcoves of sheer madness. She brings a smile, most frequently!
Thank you Tumbleweed for your friendship. I enjoy reading articles you've written and Good News Wednesday. David
Hi Tumbleweed,
I am just getting used to the Vine now, even though I stayed away about six weeks before the election. I burned out. I am glad to be your friend and I look forward to sharing your ups and downs in this electronic jungle. As I read your headline I could not help but remember what my Mom always used to say, "Small things amuse small minds." When people are being petty that seems to surface quite easily. Good luck in your writing. I am trying to do some of the same, write!

Just wanted to thank you for the friendship. I have enjoyed your company here on the vine. Thanks for the wonderful articles ( hey I have a extra few loose screws if you ever need them) and thanks for the laughs ! Looking forward to many more wonderful years on the vine with you.
Kimmie
Thank you for the invite. Sometimes feel like I have been blowing in the wind for ever also... we have lots in common. I am SWF born & breed in Schenectady, NY. Saved and Baptized a Baptist, than disillusioned around 13 by that. I believe in God, religion concerns me.... 41 (never married) and still have nothing really figured out. Live with and take care of my mom, 3 cats, brothers (sometimes myself....LOL =}). Newsvine is the 1st place I ever blogged, and thought I knew so much.... Not! See you around the vine chick....
Wow, The Serpeant and Rainbow. I love that movie too, creepy as hell though, I heard a story about the producer, I will post it tomorrow, make sure you check it out.
